Admission examinations: No admission examinations are required for this specialized study programme. Foreigners who cannot submit any secondary school certificate in the field taught in Czech or Slovak will pass an interview in Czech.
The Bachelor´s study programme System Arboristics is a multidisciplinary programme comprising tree species and crop tending in the urbanized environment as well as in the forest parts that are used mainly by the public. The aim of this study programme is to prepare graduates for the employment on different levels of state administration and regional authorities, municipal and private business activities, organizations, legal and natural persons, agencies and specific institutions the activity of which is connected with the above-mentioned study programme. It focuses on society-wide requirements for the maximum protection of tree vegetation elements and securing their safety.
The final state examination is passed before the commission. The student defends a Bachelor´s thesis and passes examinations in four comprehensive subjects: Hodnocení dřevin, Metody ošetřování dřevin, Arboristické technologie, Ochrana dřevin v městském prostředí.
The graduates of the Bachelor´s study programme System Arboristics will earn a Bachelor´s degree Bc. and submit applications for some of the related programmes of the Master´s study programmes or they leave the university and start their career as:
employees of private arboristic companies in charge of green vegetation tending,
employees in state administration and municipalities in charge of green vegetation tending,
in charitable trusts of nature and landscape protection or historic monuments protection or in a similar kind of institutes.
The high level of the FFWS graduates is also proved by the latest survey of the rate of unemployment of university graduates. This rate is very low in case of the FFWS graduates – 1,6 %.
