Cooperation with the National Heritage Institute in Prague

The Department of Wood Processing and Biomaterials has started long-term cooperation and, through research, is helping to determine the optimal variant of wood shingles intended for the renovation of monuments in the Czech Republic.

Our Faculty’s aim is to constantly develop cooperation with practice. The Department of Wood Processing and Biomaterials, FFWS CZU, has started  long-term cooperation with the National Heritage Institute in Prague. At the beginning of 2021, various types of wood shingle samples were placed in stands on the roof of the FFWS Pavilion of Wood Sciences. Changes in their properties will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and the most durable variant will be selected on the basis of tests. We believe that with this research, together we will help determine the optimal variant of wood shingles intended for the renovation of monuments in the Czech Republic.
