Forest engineer – Reputable gentleman in a green uniform or an expert in the right place? Both and much more. Forest engineering at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences, the starting line for many of them.
The two-year Master’s degree study is either a full-time study or a combined type of study. Forest engineering builds on the following undergraduate branches of study: Forestry, Game Management and Economic and Administrative Services in Forest Management. It is a continuous follow-up to the undergraduate studies, which deepens the knowledge and skills acquired by the graduates of Bachelor’s degree. The emphasis is put on enhancement and sustainable use of forest and natural resources. The graduates are able to meet the company’s requirements on the forest by means of appropriate technical, nature-friendly and cost effective solutions.
Employability of Graduates
- staff members of state administration in the area of forest management, game management, protection of nature and environmental protection at the regional and municipal level and in central state administration bodies (Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of the Environment) - owners of companies rendering services in the field of forestry, game management, urban greenery administration, timber trading
- managers in companies in the field of forest management; after acquiring experience – middle-level and top-level management of companies focusing on forestry, game management, landscaping, nature protection
- scientific research staff at universities, research institutes in the Czech Republic and abroad, and the Forest Management Institute (an institution with a nation-wide scope of authority)
- the staff and management of state-owned and public nature preservation organisations (national parks, protected landscape areas, forest parks, etc.)
