This branch of study builds on the following undergraduate branches of study: Wood Technology, Entrepreneurship in Wood Processing and Furniture Industry; it is either a full-time study or a combined type of study. Students deepen their knowledge received during their undergraduate studies in the area of wood processing with regards to the biological, technical, economic, aesthetic and environmental aspects of wood. Emphasis is placed on the optimum use of wood as a renewable raw material source. Students get thoroughly acquainted with the pre-production and production phases of wood processing, including the knowledge of the production of large-sized structural materials, furniture industry, the production of musical instruments or interior design.
Employability of Graduates
- owners or managers of companies in the field of wood processing, timber and wood commodity trading
- staff members of scientific research institutions (universities, research institutes in the Czech Republic and abroad) and testing institutions providing the necessary certificates for the launching of products on the Czech market
- staff members in the pre-production (storage, sorting, wood material protection, modification of wood properties, all sorts of wood technology) and production (large-sized structural materials, furniture industry or interior design) stages of wood processing
