This year’s Vltava Run 2025 saw the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences at CZU in Prague make a spectacular showing. Two FLD running teams took to the start line, one with nine members and the other with twelve. And the result? The “Magnificent Nine” team impressively claimed 4th place in their category! But that was not all. FLD also made its presence felt off the course, with a science and research stand showcasing modern forestry, wood science, and nature conservation. Visitors of all ages had the chance to explore hands-on what the faculty does and discovered that it is anything but boring. For the youngest participants, a children’s zone offered opportunities to play, create, and explore the forest world in a fun and engaging way. Since wood is close to us not only in mind but also in hands, we crafted original wooden medals for this year’s event, each forming part of an endless puzzle of the Vltava Run logo, symbolising team spirit and the connection between people and the landscape. Wooden plaques were also made for the winners. We thank everyone who ran with us, cheered, or simply visited our stand. We look forward to next year with renewed energy, new ideas, and our shared love of movement, nature, and wood.
