TANABBO II Model

The TANABBO II system is an innovative approach to forecasting the threat of spruce stands by spruce bark beetle. It contributes to the integration of larger amounts of data and the use of various spatial analysis and modelling techniques, thereby significantly contributing to the development of forestry forecasting tools (in particular by analytical identification of endangered stands). It is one of the first early warning systems against spruce bark beetle infestation. Given the correct forecasting and access to relevant information on the activities of the spruce bark beetle, not only does the system bring potential to savings in millions of crowns, but, given the possibility of use by all forest owners and significant support for maintaining all non-productive forest functions, it is very beneficial for society as a whole.
