CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies) is a Central European exchange program in the extended Danube region, established on the initiative of Austria and based on an international agreement. So far, 15 countries have joined the agreement: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
The program is specific and differs from ERASMUS in several aspects:
- Universities must be part of at least one network of universities with similar study programs to participate.
- Scholarships are approved at the national level and paid by the host universities.
- Each faculty should have a coordinator, an expert in the given network field, who approves incoming and outgoing mobilities. The approval of outgoing scholarship holders is based on the submitted mobility plan and is done individually in coordination with the host university coordinator and the national CEEPUS offices (represented in the Czech Republic by the Dům zahraniční spolupráce – Centre for International Cooperation in Education).
CEEPUS is especially suitable for those interested in short-term stays ranging from one week (for academic staff) or one month (for students) up to three months. The program also includes professional excursions, summer schools, and workshops. Although CEEPUS doesn’t have the same broad capacity as ERASMUS, it is not limited by the number of mobilities and can serve as a great complement for students or staff who have already taken part in ERASMUS in the same academic year.
The number of mobility months granted annually is determined by the main network coordinator and the Centre for International Cooperation in Education.
Our faculty is a member of two networks:
- "Engineering as Communication Language in Europe"
- "Teaching and Research of Environment-oriented Technologies in Manufacturing"
Since joining the CEEPUS program, our faculty has hosted more than 200 foreign guests from universities such as Warsaw, Kraków, Zagreb, Timi?oara, Zvolen, Chi?inău, etc. Regular professional excursions are organized for students from the Koszalin University of Technology. Likewise, interested students and staff have had the opportunity to study or teach abroad in the above-mentioned countries.
