LIFE Prognoses final report summarizes old-growth forest protection across Europe

After more than four years of international cooperation, the LIFE Prognoses project focused on the protection of old-growth forests in Europe has been officially completed.

The international LIFE Prognoses project, which aimed to protect and sustainably manage old-growth forests across Europe, has been successfully completed after more than four years. The project team, consisting of 15 partners from 8 European countries, submitted a final report summarizing all key results and milestones achieved.

The Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague also participated in the project, together with institutions such as the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park (NPAB) in Italy, the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve (CBR) in Ukraine, the Kalkalpen National Park in Austria, the Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO) in Belgium, the University of Ljubljana (UL), and others. Together, they have carried out dozens of activities aimed at protecting the most valuable forest ecosystems and promoting close-to-nature forest management.

The main outputs of the project are summarized in the final report, the Layman's Report, which is now freely available for download on the project website.
