The project focuses on sustainable tourism development, environmental education and awareness in the Hradec Králové City Forests, a large forest complex covering an area of 3,700 ha on the outskirts of the regional capital. The project aims to strengthen the protection of the natural forest environment in the Hradec Králové City Forests area by building a high-quality visitor infrastructure that will direct the movement of visitors with regard to the ecological carrying capacity of the area. The project responds to the critical need for targeted environmental awareness, which will be systematically developed across age and social groups. Forests near cities play a key role in supporting the health of residents, but at the same time face pressure on their ecological stability.
The project is funded by the Swiss Confederation under the Second Swiss Contribution through the "Sustainable Tourism and Biodiversity Enhancement" Program (Call No. 2 - Small Grant Scheme).
