The aim of the project is to develop and verify innovative methods for assessing and sorting forest reproductive material using hyperspectral analysis and rapid laboratory techniques. The project focuses on:
- the use of hyperspectral reflectance for automated sorting of seeds based on fullness and quality, representing a previously unused approach in forest seed processing;
- the development of a rapid method to determine the depth of seed dormancy in forest tree species, in order to optimize stratification time and efficiently verify its success;
- the evaluation of the physiological condition of seedlings after coating with antagonistic fungi using a hyperspectral camera, with the aim of monitoring vitality, nutrient uptake, and stress responses in forest nurseries.
