Project description:
The aim was to develop an effective exterior coating system for wood surface against the action of degrading biotic and abiotic agents. The principle is the application of a base layer consisting of an acrylic water-soluble coating based on polymers of methacrylic acid esters, which contains dispersed zinc oxide nanoparticles. A porous layer of polyamide nanofibrous non-woven nanotextile is utilised in this coating system, which strengthens its layer while preserving the natural grain of the wood.
Output description and use:
The new multi-layer coating system is suitable for the exterior protecting the surface of all types of wood against the action of degrading biotic and abiotic factors. The utilised polymer nanotextile strengthens the coating system while acting as a UV-stabilizer, thanks to which the treated wood surface has a longer service life. The application is suitable for protecting the surface of cladding boards, fences, bio-boards, and other solid wood products.
