Forentomics: Linking bark beetle biology and management with advances in molecular biology and genomics, has been accepted as a Section Symposium for Entomology 2020 being held November 15-18 in Orlando, Florida.
Additionally, the Annual Meeting Program Committee, the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and President Alvin Simmons encourage us to make an effort to have a strong representation of diverse speakers across demographics, career experiences, and disciplines.
Diversity is important – it will enrich our symposium, widen perspectives on our study area (Forentomics), and showcase as openness to opportunities for all in our field. Hence, we manage to have speakers from three continents (Asia, Europea, America) so far.
We will follow the recommended considerations compiled by ESA's Diversity & Inclusion Committee. We hope our faculty will also provide the necessary support for that.
