From 28 September to 2 October 2026, FISC will host the 23rd meeting of the International Forestry Quarantine Research Group (IFQRG) at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. The five-day meeting will bring together experts to discuss current research and international developments in forest quarantine and plant health. Two virtual sessions will also be held as part of the meeting, allowing participants to join selected thematic discussions remotely.
The full five-day meeting will provide a forum for updates from international fora as well as discussion and collaboration on current research relevant to forest quarantine and plant health.
The programme will be organised around four tentative thematic areas

Molecular tools: detection, diagnostics, and enhancing international collaboration

Risks in trade from germplasm

Research supporting the development of commodity standards

Risks from pathogens in the trade of seeds and wood products
Two virtual sessions are planned within the meeting

Tuesday, 29 September, 14:00–17:00 CET – Risk of international trade in germplasm

Thursday, 1 October, 14:00–17:00 CET – New tools, technology and research
The International Forestry Quarantine Research Group brings together researchers and plant health specialists working on scientific issues related to the international movement of forest pests and phytosanitary measures.

Presentations are welcome
Presentations related to the meeting topics are welcome and are intended to support working discussions, action items and future collaboration.

- brief abstract (3–4 sentences, up to 250 words)
- permission or non-permission to post the presentation in the restricted IFQRG-23 Work Area
- indication of whether the presentation will be given in person or as part of a virtual session.
The IFQRG Science Steering Committee will review the submitted proposals and develop the agenda, which is expected to be posted in the IFQRG-IPPC Work Area by 14 September 2026.
