FISC to Host the 23rd International Forestry Quarantine Research Group Meeting

From 28 September to 2 October 2026, FISC will host the 23rd meeting of the International Forestry Quarantine Research Group (IFQRG) at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. The five-day meeting will bring together experts to discuss current research and international developments in forest quarantine and plant health. Two virtual sessions will also be held as part of the meeting, allowing participants to join selected thematic discussions remotely.

The full five-day meeting will provide a forum for updates from international fora as well as discussion and collaboration on current research relevant to forest quarantine and plant health.

The programme will be organised around four tentative thematic areas

  • Molecular tools: detection, diagnostics, and enhancing international collaboration

  • Risks in trade from germplasm

  • Research supporting the development of commodity standards

  • Risks from pathogens in the trade of seeds and wood products

Two virtual sessions are planned within the meeting

  • Tuesday, 29 September, 14:00–17:00 CET – Risk of international trade in germplasm

  • Thursday, 1 October, 14:00–17:00 CET – New tools, technology and research

The International Forestry Quarantine Research Group brings together researchers and plant health specialists working on scientific issues related to the international movement of forest pests and phytosanitary measures.
