PhD summerschool 'Natural disturbances and restoration of European forests' (10-16 May) opens registration. Venue in beautiful Italian Alps

After very successful PhD European forestry PhD summerschools held in 2017, 2018, 2021, and 2023, we are very happy to organise one now in Italy with University of Viterbo "La Tuscia" and Wageningen University & Research . The topic: Europe’s forests are under increasing pressure from climate change and natural disturbances. At the same time, the Nature Restoration Regulation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy pushes for urgent restoration of forests. This Summer School of the Euroleague for Life Sciences deals with how to approach and adapt to this, and how sudden disturbances can steer restoration activities, at scales from local to Europe wide.

We have great teachers and students will have lectures, will discuss in the field and will test a European forest modelling tool (EFISCEN-space). Organisers: Barbati Anna Rodolfo Picchio Gert-Jan Nabuurs Miriam van Heist Teachers: Magda Bou Dagher Kharrat Giorgio Alberti Marco Patacca Albert Ciceu Debojyoti Chakraborty Alba Viana-Soto Francesco Latterini
