The LIFE Adapt Brdy project was presented at the Silva Regina International Forestry and Hunting Fair in Brno from April 12–15, 2026. Visitors could learn about the project through informational materials at the booth of Vojenské lesy a statky ČR, s. p. and the booth of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (FLD ČZU), as well as through the accompanying program.
On Monday, April 13, a half-hour lecture was held at the Pódium u Lípy, where David Novotný, Director of the Hořovice Division, and Zdeněk Vacek, a researcher from FLD ČZU, presented the project and its results to date. The presentation focused primarily on practical outputs applicable to forest management.
The main outputs of the project were presented to the audience:
- A Methodological guide for foresters – new forestry practices for managing species- and spatially-diverse forest stands that provide stable timber production.
- A study on water retention and experiences from the revitalization of the Voložný Potok spring area.
- A Hunting Management Concept – hunting as a tool for forest cultivation.
- Established demonstration sites.
Participation in the fair contributed to disseminating the project’s results among both experts and the general public and supported discussion on the adaptation of forests to changing climatic conditions.
