On Thursday, January 22, 2026, a project meeting of the LIFE Adapt Brdy project partners was held at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, combined with a meeting of the Steering Committee. Participants evaluated the progress of the project to date, in particular measures in the field, communication with the public, and planned outputs for foresters, forest owners, and students.
The results of forest restoration and reduction of damage caused by wildlife were discussed, and updates to the hunting concept and framework guidelines for forest management were approved. Volunteer events involving 319 people and planned training focused on retention measures in management were presented.
Another important item was the planning of workshops for LIFE projects and stakeholders, as well as the upcoming CINEA monitoring mission in May 2026. The committee also approved the publication of a methodological handbook for foresters in three languages.
The next project meeting and Steering Committee meeting will take place on June 24, 2026, at the Forestry and Game Management Research Institute, Opočno Research Station..
