We recognize the importance of mapping habitat trees, so we plan to create an online database (with a mobile app) to support biodiversity. The data will come from conservation and forestry experts as well as nature enthusiasts. This information can also be used for scientific research, such as modeling the presence of species that depend on deadwood if larger areas are mapped.
The "Lesodiverzita" project aims to raise awareness about the role of habitat trees in protecting endangered species, the need to preserve them, and the importance of acting responsibly around them. This is key to ensuring habitat trees remain part of natural and urban landscapes.
To make the project accessible, we’ve designed it to be simple and engaging, even for young children. The main page includes an interactive habitat tree to explore microhabitats, a gallery of forest species with descriptions, and a memory game to help kids learn species names. Join us in mapping habitat trees!
