Field measurements at the Czech pilot site as part of the activities of the international RE-ENFORCE project

In April 2025, field measurements were carried out at the pilot site in the Czech Republic as part of the INTERREG CE project RE-ENFORCE. The team from the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague collected data needed to model the causes of forest degradation and to assess the possibilities of restoring degraded forest ecosystems.

The picture shows Assoc. Prof. Jan Stejskal and Ing. Jiří Chuchlík recording the condition of pine trees that were previously exposed to controlled drought stress and are now monitoring their adaptation.

This activity is part of Pilot Action 2, focused on restoring Scots pine stands that have suffered from the effects of drought and heat waves in recent years - a problem that affects a large part of Central Europe.
