Bioeconomy for Schools is a valuable project that contributes to the development of innovative educational methods and enables primary school students to actively engage in sustainable development and environmental protection.
The project was implemented from August 2022 to January 2024 in cooperation between the Czech University of Life Sciences (CZU Forests and the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences), Pečky Primary School, the Institute for Professional Development and the Norwegian partner The Forestry Extension Institute. The aim of the project was to support the development and sharing of innovative methods and examples of good practice in the education of primary school students in the field of sustainable forestry and understanding the principles of forest bioeconomy.
As part of this project, four teaching modules containing 60 different activities were created that can be used by primary school teachers.
Forests are not a wood factory; their contribution to the landscape and society is much more complex. Forest bioeconomy deals with the use all the natural resources that forests provide to society efficiently and sustainably – all this by using innovations, new production processes and modern technologies.
