The professional conference entitled „Old trees in a new light“, organized by the ČSOP Arborist Academy in cooperation with the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, was successfully held in the CZU Assembly Hall on 25th and 26th January 2024. The participants of this event had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge about senescent trees and their importance in the biodiversity system. During the conference, the benefits of these trees to the surrounding ecosystem were discussed and practical advice was obtained for their management and preservation in the landscape for future generations. Meeting of experts and nature enthusiasts brought new knowledge and inspired further work in the field of protecting old trees.
