Two international projects co-funded by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE programme were launched at FLD in the first half of the year.
The HealthyForestRegions project is developing concepts to strengthen the commitment of key policy actors to better protect forest ecosystems. The partnership is also testing new tools and solutions for the transition to ecosystem-based forest management in six regions. The project involves 9 partners from six European countries. The University for Sustainable Development in Eberswalde acts as coordinator.
The second project, BIOECO-UP, seeks to implement the concept of replacing fossil resources with renewable raw materials in as many areas and applications as possible throughout Central Europe. The individual partners will design new circular value chains for the bioeconomy and consumer behaviour change. They will also support the political level to make this transformation happen. In addition to FLD, 11 other partners from eight European countries are working together on this project. The main coordinator is the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture.
